The fisherman and his Wife
It is an adaptation of the well-known fairytale by the Grimm Brothers. With humor and emotion the two heroes of the story face greed for goods, riches, power. The play moves in between the spheres of dream and reality. The poor fisherman experiences a “bad dream”, a nightmare. The nightmare of his wife's greed. The greed increases and the fear and stress of the fisherman come to a climax. Total destruction brings the resolution of the drama.
The truth for the fisherman is his dream, but the reality, happy and optimistic, leaves the audience who has been through the stages of speculation and catharsis with a sense of satisfaction and joy for life. The puppets of the show are compound marottes of classic puppet theatre. Contemporary shadow theatre techniques are also used at the same time.
